Breast Cancer Rehabilitation at Enliven

Breast cancer is the most common type of cancer with approximately 55,000 women diagnosed each year, with most diagnoses occurring in women aged 50 or above.

The treatments for breast cancer have advanced significantly over the years and luckily survival rates have dramatically improved, with 85% of women surviving for more than 5 years after diagnosis.

However the treatment and recovery processes of breast cancer are not without their problems and side effects, both from physical and emotional standpoints. Surgeries, chemo, radio and drug therapy may lead to an array of issues which may require rehabilitation and treatment, in order to enable return to function and normal life.

We offer a variety of treatment options for women who have undergone treatment for breast cancer. We offer options for scar work and cording, bespoke exercise programs and can help address many of the common unwanted side effects which may present through chemo, radio and drug therapy.

We provide our treatments conditions in comfortable and safe surroundings and you can guarantee that your issues will be considered holistically, you will be listened to and a comprehensive treatment program will be delivered.

What would your assessment look like?

A full assessment will take 60 minutes in our private and comfortable clinic environment. It will involve talking through your symptoms and medical history, where we will discuss your treatment journey and any ongoing issues you may be having, what your goals are and where you want to be. Your issues will be addressed in a confidential and sensitive way, in order to determine where to go in terms of your physical examination.

The Physical examination will involve a musculoskeletal screen where your posture, strength and movement will be assessed. Once the assessment has been completed we will be able to formulate a treatment program with you, to address your symptoms and goals in the most optimal way.
