I have two children from two difficult births which have left me with a weak pelvic floor and a prolapse. As soon as I met Alex, I felt positive that the outcome would be a good one. She is friendly and professional and I like that she is straight talking. She gave me a thorough examination- back, pelvis, hips, gait, movement and also an internal examination. We then talked through the psychological and the physical symptoms I was experiencing within the framework of her assessment. She was honest from the start saying this would be a process and wouldn’t be fixed over night. We began with some very basic physio exercises and gradually over the weeks have progressed to floor Pilates and now I am working on the Reformer Pilates equipment. Alex gives me a routine to do at home, along with pelvic floor work and she updates this weekly as she pushes me to the next level in our 1:1s.
Alex is very supportive (even why I cried!!) and things are certainly improving. As a woman who used to be so fit and strong, the problems I have been having are ultimately extremely frustrating and it would have been very easy to get despondent and just “accept” this as the new norm. However, Alex is very good at motivating you in a subtle and calm way and I always feel much better after a session with her and my body is getting stronger week by week. I would thoroughly recommend Alex to anyone who has given birth. I wish I he met her during my pregnancies as I am sure she would have helped with my deviated pelvis and associated back pain.
