Amanda Dunn

Reformer Pilates instructor

Amanda came to Pilates quite late in life, just after she turned 50. Brought up on a farm, loving outdoor life and with barely a day off through illness, she was knocked when a nasty episode of plantar fasciitis affected every aspect of her everyday life.

Four months on, still hobbling, she tried Pilates and has never looked back!

Pilates gave Amanda the tools to keep her symptoms under control and, with extensive further training, has provided her with the knowledge to help rehabilitate others.

Amanda is now qualified in both Mat and Equipment Pilates and her passion for the method remains, helping others to find relief from their symptoms but also experience the wellness and benefits that Pilates can bring.

Amanda teaches Mixed-level and New-starter reformer Pilates classes on a Tuesday and also be provides cover to some of the other classes throughout the week. She is passionate about working with the older client and is keen to help in our mission to encourage this population engage in regular exercise.

Henrietta Cooney

Reformer Pilates instructor

After years of working for the National Trust Head Office in London at a desk based job, then running her own gardening business after having her three children, Henrietta developed issues with her back. Friends persuaded her to try Pilates and although initially sceptical, she went along and couldn’t believe the difference it made to her back troubles.

Ten years later, with a healthy back, she is now a Level 3 Pilates teacher. Henrietta loves her job and finds nothing more rewarding than sharing her love of Pilates with others, and seeing the improvements in their bodies.

Henrietta has completed further Pilates Teacher training with the Australian Physiotherapy and Pilates Institute, to become a fully certified APPI Pilates Matwork teacher. She has also completed extensive Pilates reformer training with the amazing Lisa B Pilates Academy for Teachers. As well as teaching at Enliven Health, she works at the private Saxon Clinic in Milton Keynes, where she provides rehabilitation Pilates for post-operative patients, as well as running her own home studio. Henrietta’s special interests are Pilates for lower back pain and pelvic alignment. In her spare time she loves running, tennis, yoga and of course, practising Pilates on her reformer!

Henrietta teaches Mixed-level Reformer classes on a Monday and Thursday morning, as well as on a Thursday evening.
